Happy August!!

“One day you discover you are alive.
Explosion! Concussion! Illumination! Delight!
You laugh, you dance around, you shout.
But, not long after, the sun goes out.
Snow falls, but no one sees it, on an August noon.”
 Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine

Hope your summer is going well!
We, here is the Boston area, have been having numerous heat waves, keeping me hunkered down in front of my air conditioner,  in a fort made of curtains  and draped fabric, to contain the cool.

peace,
Virginia

Happy Summer ... your June calendar

What is one to say about June, the time of perfect young summer, the fulfillment of the promise of the earlier months, and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade.

May this dress remind us to be at ease ...

When we are at ease, our bodies work efficiently,
our minds settle, and space opens up for us
to connect to our intuition, creativity, and sense of connectedness.
Tara Stiles

to be at ease ... perfect advice for
the dog days of summer!
stay cool ...
love, mom

may this dress remind us to live our one wild and precious life!!!! XXX

The Summer Day
Mary Oliver

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
