Some information about Ingrid Bengis thanks to Wikipedia

Ingrid Bengis was born in 1944 in New York City and died of cancer in 2017 in Stonington, Maine.^[1] She was a writer and a business woman who received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in 1970. 

She is best known for her pioneering collection of essays on love, hate and sexuality, Combat in the Erogenous Zone, (Knopf 1972). 

Ingrid Bengis founded Ingrid Bengis Seafood in 1985 and owned and managed the establishment for 30 years. She developed a special connection between the fishermen of Maine and the elite chefs of the United States.^[3] Chefs with whom she worked included Thomas Keller, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Dan Barber.

Spreading the magic of women ...

Let there be magic!!!

In 2019 I started #100daysofwomenwonders where I posted quotes by women with an illustration, an origami dress or other graphic. I have decided to revisit this project now, 2025, as one way to deal with the insanity that this year will bring!  I am terrified about the havoc the new administration will wreak on humanity and the world. 

I am a firm believer in the power and energy of words so my plan is to flood the internet, ether and universe with feminine energy, be it quotes by women, accomplishments by women or maybe just information about women wonders. 

I am not exactly sure of how this project will unfold but I believe passionately that it is very important at this moment in history.  I believe where there are women, there is magic and I plan to celebrate and spread that magic!!!

As happens with any of my projects my #100daysofwomenwonders has morphed - first sharing quotes by women in one of my mixed media dress collages, then I added a pen and ink portrait of the quoted women and lastly I am hand-lettering the quote via procreate. With each transition the project is more time consuming, however, thoroughly challenging and enjoyable, but I am getting behind on posting. I am posting fairly regularly on instagram if you want to follow my #100dayproject,
